Wednesday September 15, 2004 I think it's time to talk about my sleeping habits. It's long overdue, actually. After I graduated high school and quit my job, I did nothing for a really long time. And I do mean nothing. At all! I went to bed when I got tired and didn't get up until I wasn't. That made for some very long nights. Usually around 10 hours sleep total was gained each time I went to bed. That threw me off track, though. I mean I'd go to bed at midnight and not get up until 10 or later the next morning, then I wouldn't be tired again until probably 2 a.m., so I didn't go to bed until 2 a.m., then I didn't go to bed until 4 a.m. the night after that. That kept up, and I'd slowly make my way around the clock until I was going to bed in the middle of the afternoon. 10-hour nights slowly turned into 11-hour nights slowly turned into 12-hour nights. That meant only that it would take me less time to go around the clock with my sleep schedule. And I do mean I'd go around the clock. Like I said, I'd eventually be going to bed in the middle of the afternoon and it kept going until I was back on a regular schedule again. Starting college, even though I've been at it for over a year now, has not broken this habit of mine. My body is still under the impression that I'm allowed 10-12 hours of sleep per night and that there are only six days in a week.
That's about all there is to
say, I guess. I prefer my weird little schedule though, to be honest. I
hate going to bed and just laying there for hours. That happens when I try
to have a regular bed time/schedule. I think we should somehow slow the
speed at which the Earth spins to make six-day weeks; each day 28 hours
apiece. That would be great for me, so I'm all for it. |
