Happy new year!

Since it's now 2005, I thought it would be fun to make some more new years resolutions. Sort of like last year, only more modest this time so that I might actually accomplish one. Well, I guess I accomplished one of last year's. The first one. I started going to bed at a decent hour I suppose. I only really did that because I changed my schedule for the fall semester. I went to school everyday, so I basically had no choice but to go to bed on time. I'm 1 for 5. Anyway, on the with new ones...

1. Write and post three short stories for the website. Every once in a while I get an idea for one, I jot it down, then I never touch it again. Not this year. I'll actually write some. And share them. Like the copyright info at the bottom of this and every page says, the site's been up since 2002. And since it's been up, I've had "Coming Soon!" under the Short Stories section on the My Works page. No more. And since I know I'm the type to put things off until the last minute, I'll put in some spaced due dates so that they aren't rushed and thrown on the website in late December at the end of the year. The first one must be done by January 12th. That gives me the rest of my break to get one written. The second must be done by September 1st. That will give me all of my summer break to work on another. It'll help kill some time too. The last one I'll say has to be done by January 1st, 2006. There. No more "Coming Soon!"

2. Put up another 24 journal entries. That's an average of 2 per month. Just like last year. It kept me busy and gave all two of the people that actually look at my site other than me a reason to keep checking back. As a sort of 2a) I'll say they have to be more story oriented. When I go back and read "stories" that are journal entries, I find them much more interesting and entertaining while my style of reporting things here and there is quite boring. If I'm not even interested in my own life if it isn't in some kind of story form, I don't know how I expect any of you to be. So, 24 more journal entries that are less "reports" and more "stories." Two resolutions you can all witness personally. That's pretty good.

3. Make the dean's list. I was so close to doing this last semester as you may remember. I set out to do it and came up just short. I was sure I had made it. Now I want it very badly. It wouldn't hurt to bring up my GPA a tenth or two either.

From number 4 all the way to end you can pretty much just insert last year's resolutions. Pick a major (I basically have to since I can't get another full semester out of general education courses alone), and get my car running reliably and looking better. I'd still like to move out, but without a job that won't be happening. Since I'm getting significantly more money for school, a job isn't necessary anymore. That should about do it.
