"Elsa Cabrera, director of the Center for Cetacean Conservation in Santiago, whose team found, photographed and preserved the find, received inquiries from around the world."

A direct quote from CNN.com where this story got front page billing. Allow me to catch you up. Last Friday (June 27th), friend and contributor to this very website, Bob, made the bold yet vague prediction that Tuesday would see a world news event. We sat, as did the world, anxiously awaiting Tuesday. Tuesday finally arrived and seemed to come and go without a hitch. Or did it? Apparently not as Wednesday this story is being reported widely. It is currently being featured on the websites of Yahoo! and CNN just to name a few.

Scientists are thus far baffled on what it could be but suspect it's a giant octopus known as Octopus Giganteus. They are awaiting DNA test results. This occurrence reminded scientists of a similar find in 1896. Portions of that blob's skin were lost and thus its species never confirmed. The blob was compared to pictures of that 1896 find and color and shape were said to be similar.

So what are we to believe? Is Bob really the psychic he claims to be? Despite this blob being found on the 23rd of June, before Bob even made his prediction, I say yes.
